2 Pole Step Response
The step response of a 2 pole system is shown in the applet below.
The open and closed loop transfer function for the system is
type 1 G(s) = K/(s(T1s + 1)),
C(s)/R(s) = K/(s(T1s + 1) + K))
type 0 G(s) = K/((T1s + 1)(T2s + 1)),
C(s)/R(s) = K/((T1s + 1)(T2s + 1) + K))
The 5% lines can used to determine the rise and settling times while the vertical ruler can be used to calculate the overshoot.
For the type 1 system the overshoot is e-p/Ö(4K*T1 - 1).
