Here G(s) = 1/(s + a)(s + b) and the Root Locus is illustrated by locating the points where the angle condition is satisfied. In the following applet the angle condition is satisfied along the boundary between the red and blue regions. The horizontal axis corresponds to real(s) from -3 to +1 and the vertical axis corresponds to imag(s) from -2 to +2.
